Introduced in the Early Access release is the ability for DAO members to complete an online identity verification through our partner, Persona. Completing this bank-grade verification of an individual’s identity is intended to raise the trustworthiness of our verified DAO Members.

When a DAO member completes verification, they are awarded a blue checkmark with a date of when it was completed.

This will let all members know the person they are interacting with is legitimate and trustworthy.

What is Bank-Grade Verification?

This term indicates the verification process is done to the standards required by governments and financial institutions. This type of verification will include both document validation and user-generated image capture to compare and confirm identity.

What’s the benefit of being verified on

Being verified not only conveys to other DAO members that your identity has been confirmed, but it also allows you to progress through the DAO tiers and become eligible for more perks, privileges, and leadership roles in the DAO. Anyone who wants to obtain the Gold Level DAO Tier or above will need to complete the KYC verification process.

What is required for User Verification? has partnered with Persona to conduct and manage the verification process. Depending on your country of origin, the process will guide you through the steps of submitting your documentation and self-generated images. These will be compared through a combination of AI and human-based actions to produce a verification result.

What kind of documents are required?

This will depend on your country of origin (i.e. Spain, Thailand, U.S.A.) but will usually include documents issued by your government. This could be a passport, drivers license, residency permits and so on. The on-line process will give you options to select.

How long does the process take?

The verification process can be done in just a few minutes, providing you have access to your official documents and a mobile device to capture a self-generated image. The system will compare your official documents to your submitted picture and give you a result.

What if I fail verification?

If you fail the process, the system will provide you with some suggestions on what needs to change for a successful verification. Some examples could be a blurry self-generated image or illegible document submission. You can correct those areas and try the verification process again.

Is my data safe?

Your data is encrypted and stored with Persona, using the highest available security and encryption standards that are required by banks and other financial institutions. If you have further questions, please contact our help desk and we’ll be happy to share specifics.

Can I redact my data?

Under CCPA and GDPR, if you decide to leave the DAO and wish to close your account, you may open a ticket with our help desk and request a data deletion. Please specify if this also includes any verification process and we’ll work to ensure your data is redacted in compliance with residency requirements.
